Bank Indonesia Expects Pressure on Rupiah to Ease in 2019
Indonesia’s central bank expects the selling pressure on the rupiah to ease next year as the country steps up efforts to narrow a current-account deficit and stabilize the currency. Bank Indonesia will maintain its “pre-emptive and ahead of the curve” monetary policy stance to deal with the “global winds,” Governor Perry Warjiyo said Wednesday. Kathleen Hays reports.
