Aftermath of the Indonesian Tsunami, In Pictures

It came without warning, triggered by a suspected volcanic eruption and catching coastal holidaymakers unawares. The tsunami along Indonesia’s Sunda Strait late on Saturday is the latest in a series of disasters to strike the country this year. Hundreds of people have been confirmed dead, with dozens more missing. Rescuers have worked around the clock in the hunt for survivors. The death toll is expected to rise.
