NextEra Energy, Ryanair, Regeneron

4:00

Today's biggest winners and losers in the stock market. On this episode of Stock Movers: - NextEra Energy (NEE) agreed to pay about $67 billion in stock for Dominion Energy (D) in the biggest power acquisition ever, creating a giant utility extending from Florida to the data centers clustered in Virginia. The deal would give NextEra a swathe of electricity assets stretching across Virginia and the Carolinas and position it as a dominant utility in a region that’s struggling to meet the surge in demand from newly built artificial intelligence facilities. - Ryanair (RYAAY) gains as it delivered a decent end to the year, but flagged impact ahead from rising costs. The airline said unit costs for 2027 could increase by a mid-single digit percentage, with concerns over current unhedged jet fuel prices, and also impact from higher crew and aircraft maintenance costs. - Regeneron Pharmaceuticals (REGN) shares drop after the drugmaker’s phase 3 data for fianlimab in metastatic melanoma fell short of expectations. Citi downgraded its rating on the stock following the “disappointing” trial update.
