Bloomberg Baystate Business: Self-Driving Cars

Bloomberg Baystate Business
Self-Driving Cars
Bloomberg Boston Bureau Chief Tom Moroney and Radio News Anchors Peter Barnes, Pat Carroll, Anne Mostue and Janet Wu are joined by top names from local business and finance to medicine and politics, along with Bloomberg reporters covering the latest stories in Boston, the Bay State and beyond. Today we spoke with Bloomberg Intelligence retail analyst Seema Shah and Bloomberg News municipal bond reporter Amanda Albright about the Supreme Court decision to allow states to collect sales taxes from online retailers. Shah talked about the impact on local retailer Wayfair and Albright about how it would affect Massachusetts bonds and the state budget. We also talked about self-driving cars in the wake of the decision to allow Nutonomy to test its cars throughout the city of Boston. Nutonomy President Karl Iagnemma joined us to give us the details. We also spoke with MIT research scientist Bryan Reimer about the technology. Taking a more cautious tone was Wendy Landman of Walk Boston. We also covered the minimum wage aspect of the so-called "Grand Bargain" that will keep a number of questions off the ballot. Steven Trulli, the owner of Whittemore Hardware and Remodeling in Melrose, told us the rise in the minimum wage from 11 to 15 dollars an hour might force him to close his doors. Lew Finfer, co-Chair of the activist group RaiseUp Massachusetts, told us why his group pushed for the measure. Finally, Janet Wu had a report on business etiquette.
