2025-26
Pick-A-Ticker
The Robin Hood Foundation, a charitable organization committed to alleviating poverty in New York City, has enlisted the boldest names in finance in a stock-picking contest. Participants have donated $10,000 and made two stock picks—a long and a short—per entry. Beginning on October 31st they have been competing to see whose investments perform best over a six-month period.
The investor with the highest total return on their picks at market close on April 30th will be the winner. The total amount raised exceeds $200,000, including the participants’ commitments and other donations toward the campaign. One-third of the total purse will be allocated to the charity of the winner’s choice from within Robin Hood’s network of poverty-fighting community partners. The remaining two-thirds will support Robin Hood’s general mission to elevate New Yorkers out of poverty.
Participants will have up to three opportunities to rebalance their positions starting at the end of November and during the last week of every other month until the contest concludes on April 30th. Rebalancing requires an additional $10,000 donation for both the long and the short position or an additional $5,000 to replace a single long or single short position.
