El-Erian: Too Early to Say US Inflation Has Peaked
Mohamed El-Erian, a Bloomberg Opinion contributor, says predictions that US inflation has peaked are premature, and is "worried" that next month's Consumer Price Index will exceed consensus estimates for May. "Those who boldly said inflation has peaked and is coming down may have to change their minds," he says on Bloomberg Television. "It wouldn't surprise me if we see a headline print that's much higher than 8.5% next month."
