3:50

Bloomberg -- Robert Mintz, a partner and McCarter and English, and Jeffrey Bellin, a professor at William and Mary Law School, discuss why federal prosecutors have dropped a corruption case against former Virginia governor Bob McDonnell and his wife Maureen. The decision from the Department of Justice ends a long saga for the former rising star in the Republican party, who was convicted of violating federal bribery laws in 2014. The McDonnells' case was heard by the Supreme Court earlier this year, which decided that while the former governor's actions were "distasteful," they were not illegal.\u0010Mintz and Bellin speak with Bloomberg Law hosts June Grasso and Michael Best on Bloomberg Radio's "Bloomberg Law."
