How the iPhone Became Apple's Golden Goose

On Tuesday, Apple announced two new iPhones including one with lower prices and more color options, in a strategy shift by Chief Executive Officer Tim Cook to reach a broader range of customers around the world. The iPhone product line has been Apple’s largest source of revenue since mid-2009 with the current flagship model, the iPhone 5, accounting for 52 percent of total U.S. iPhone sales, according to data from Consumer Intelligence Research Partners.
