Norwegian Petroleum Directorate

Norwegian Petroleum Directorate is an independent public body under the Ministry of Petroleum and Energy. The organization exists to regulate the oil and gas industry. Effective 1 January 2004, the Norwegian Petroleum Directorate (NPD) was divided into two new, independent bodies, the NPD and the Petroleum Safety Authority Norway.
