Tina Fey vs. Jon Stewart
It’s the dream match-up, the one that the winding tributaries of the bracket have been inevitably leading to: Tina Fey versus Jon Stewart. They’re two of the most popular figures in the country, both in intimate touch with passionate legions of supporters. As head writer of SNL, Fey dominated the most illustrious assemblage of comics in the country; at “30 Rock,” she managed to make Alec Baldwin loveable. Jon Stewart turned a Craig Kilborn vehicle into the nation’s most important political show to the left of Bill O’Reilly and by now has taken scalps too numerous to mention (though those of Tucker Carlson and Crossfire were especially satisfying). Stewart, greying, may have a slight gravitas edge; Fey can count on a clear gender gap. Who can find the will to make it to the White House? Let the games begin.
