Every year, the Bloomberg editorial team is recognized for outstanding business and financial journalism. Bloomberg Businessweek has had a strong start to the year, winning a total of 10 awards thus far.

Most recently, at the 2017 Design & Art Direction (D&AD) Awards, Businessweek won Best Single Issue Design for The Electorate special issue, which hit newsstands on Sept. 16, 2016. Devoted to American voters, The Electorate covered a wide range of issues, from immigration to healthcare to political gridlock.

“Bloomberg Businessweek presents the top stories in finance, politics, companies, and technology to a global audience with impact and humor,” D&AD writes of the magazine. “By embracing a spirit of boundary-pushing experimentation, Businessweek upends the idea of what a business magazine cover should be in order to engage readers week after week.”

The Businessweek team also received a lot of attention at the Press Club of Atlantic City’s National Headliner Awards. Economics Editor Peter Coy was recognized for outstanding Magazine Column Writing, while journalists Shannon Pettypiece and David Voreacos were recognized for their well-written and deeply reported feature “Walmart’s Crime Problems.” The article also won Businessweek Best Feature at the Best in Business Competition, held by The Society of American Business Editors and Writers (SABEW).

Earlier this year, Businessweek also won Best Magazine Investigative Reporting at the Sigma Delta Chi Awards, held by the Society of Professional Journalists, as well as the Morton Frank Award at the Overseas Press Club Awards.
