Donald Trump is favored to win Montana’s three electoral votes. He won the state by more than 20 percentage points in 2016.
Montana has two competitive down-ballot races: one in the Senate and one for governor. The Cook Political Report has rated both “toss ups.” In the Senate, outgoing Democratic Governor Steve Bullock is challenging incumbent Republican Senator Steve Daines. Democratic Lieutenant Governor Mike Cooney and the Republican, U.S. Representative Greg Gianforte, are competing to fill the empty seat for governor.
