Josh Rucci, GM and Global Head of Bloomberg Media Distribution, discussed media trends at the 2016 Media Briefing Monetizing Media conference, held in London on 21 – 23 September.

In an interview with Zinc Media’s Chief Executive Officer Mark Wood, Rucci discussed the market indicators for global expansion in an emerging market, focusing on current global commercial opportunities for publishers.

Rucci also addressed the issue of revenue diversification. Digital video, he said, will offer new revenue opportunities to publishers committed to modernizing their product offerings and improving customer retention. Investment in digital video will allow for a migration away from ad supported models, toward the development of new, innovative strategies of storytelling. “Leveraging the assets that are in house to tell great video stories is a great way forward,” Rucci said.

Rucci was among 300 global media executives and leaders who attended this year’s Monetizing Media conference. Speakers discussed the challenges of revenue optimization, and shared strategies for building and monetizing social audiences.
