All 29 June 2017

As this awards season for journalism comes to a close, Bloomberg Media celebrates a strong first half of the year. This June, Bloomberg made headlines for its timely and trusted coverage of global markets, industries and economic news.

On June 27, Bloomberg was honored with two Gerald Loeb Awards for Explanatory and Feature reporting. The Loebs recognized Bloomberg’s Superbug series for its bracing look at how pharmaceutical companies are promoting the overuse of antibiotics to bolster their profits. Journalists Matthew Campbell and Kit Chellel were also recognized for their international Bloomberg Businessweek cover story, “Hot Mess: How Goldman Lost Libya’s Money.”

Bloomberg also won the “Breaking News” award from the National Press Club for its “smart, fast and informative” coverage of the Brexit vote and its implications.

Additional highlights from this month include the appearance of Chief Revenue Officer Keith Grossman on the eMarketer podcast “Behind The Numbers.” In the 13-minute segment, Grossman addresses key digital marketing trends and forecasts. Grossman was also interviewed by the French ad trade publication mind, in light of the 64th Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity. He discusses Bloomberg’s foundational approach to data, digital advertising and video.
