Tech at Bloomberg

Bloomberg technology is part of the fabric of the global financial markets.  Designing, architecting, strengthening, and deploying Bloomberg’s global network, market data services, trading tools, and more is the mission of 4,800 engineers and software designers across 26 offices around the world. They do all this and so much more for the global tech community. We want to celebrate that through Tech at Bloomberg, a central hub for information about tech and innovation at Bloomberg and the people who make it possible.

Bloomberg’s technology staff grew by 30 percent in the last year, fueled by demand for expertise in Python, Apache Solr, and machine learning technologies. On Tech at Bloomberg, you can learn about the important and ongoing contributions our technologists are making to the open source, data science, and software engineering communities. The site is built around a blog that will share updates about all things technology at Bloomberg, including what we’re building and why, our support of academic research on data science, and our ongoing support for the Data for Good Exchange and Cornell Tech @ Bloomberg events.  We will also share updates about the more than 200 events we host or sponsor for technologists across the world.

In the future, Tech at Bloomberg will also share information about our employees’ contributions to quantitative finance, and have a companion discussion forum site that will allow readers to easily and directly interact with us. It is a platform that will help Bloomberg’s engineering team engage and share information with the tech community at large.

We hope you visit our new home for technology and innovation at Bloomberg!
