Consulting accounted for 25.0% of all hires, the biggest share of any industry, among MBA graduates in their first jobs after business school at the 119 schools around the world that participated in the 2021-22 Best B-Schools ranking of full-time MBA programs. MBA graduates from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, Cornell’s Johnson Graduate School of Management, Dartmouth’s Tuck school, Harvard Business School, MIT Sloan School of Management, NYU Stern, Northwestern’s Kellogg, Pennsylvania’s Wharton, Stanford Graduate School of Business, Virginia’s Darden, and Yale School of Management earned a median salary of $165,000, highest of all schools that participated in the Bloomberg Businessweek business school ranking. INSEAD sent 226 graduates into consulting, the most of any school. Second was Indian School of Business, at 204, followed by University of Chicago’s Booth school, at 174. Tuck sent the highest percentage of any school into consulting, 41.8%. At 41.2%, INSEAD was second highest, followed by University of Virginia’s Darden school, at 41.0%.
