Petco Appoints Alan Tse as Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary

Petco announced that Alan Tse will joins as senior vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary in late November. Tse will oversee all legal, corporate governance and regulatory affairs matters for the company. With more than 20 years of corporate legal experience, Tse comes to the company from Churchill Downs in Louisville, Kentucky, where he served as executive vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary. After nearly 13 years as general counsel for the company, Darragh Davis will retire from the company at the end of its fiscal year in January 2017. Tse will be based at the company's National Support Center in San Diego and will report to Weston, who will be assuming the CEO role in February as part of a previously announced succession plan.

Petco to Open 12 New Stores in October

Petco will open 12 new Petco stores nationwide, remodel and expand one store in Ohio,and relocate one store in Oregon. The company stores provide a one-stop shopping experience where pet parents can purchase anything from pet food to toys and apparel, while addressing the holistic health needs of pets via grooming salon, self-serve dog wash, dog training areas and in-store Vetco clinics. The stores will continue to offer a wide selection of private label offerings sold exclusively at Petco, including the newly released Trolls Pet Fans Collection, as well as the popular Star Wars and Dr. Seuss Pet Fans Collections. Petco Announces Executive Changes

Petco announced that Chairman and CEO, Jim Myers, a 26-year company veteran and CEO since 2004, will be retiring. As part of Petco's long-term succession plan, company President and Chief Merchant, Brad Weston, who joined Petco in 2011, will succeed Myers as CEO as of February 1, 2017. Myers joined Petco in 1990 and has been a key leader in building and growing the company from a regional player into a leading national pet specialty retail chain with more than 1,470 Petco and Unleashed by Petco stores in the U.S., Mexico and Puerto Rico. As President and Chief Merchant, Weston has been responsible for driving the company's overall business strategy, operations and merchandising activities, as well as marketing and e-commerce. Prior to joining Petco, he held senior leadership roles at Dick's Sporting Goods, May Merchandising Company and Robinsons-May.
