AT&T Corp. Key Developments

AT&T Corp. Wins Contract to Mobilize the Census Bureau

AT&T Corp. will help mobilize the U.S. Census Bureau. Under a 5-year agreement, the Census Bureau will use AT&T's highly-secure and reliable 4G LTE network and Internet of Things (IoT) services to support critical survey work performed nationwide by up to 20,000 census takers. AT&T's services will allow census takers to use mobile applications to capture and deliver sensitive survey data on-the-go in near real-time. The Census Bureau will be able to change its data needs based on capacity rather than users, with a simple pricing model from AT&T. This approach is more flexible, and saves costs when using data services. The Census Bureau will use the AT&T Control Center, an intelligent and flexible IoT management platform. The agency will be able to monitor, understand and control its wireless network usage. That includes managing, setting up and activating SIM cards.

AT&T Corp. Wins Contract from FEMA

AT&T Corp. has been awarded a four-year contract by the U.S. Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to help it modernize communications in support of improved collection, validation and processing of claims for disaster survivors. Under terms of the agreement, AT&T will provide FEMA interactive voice response capabilities and contact center services that scale to accommodate surging traffic volumes during disasters. AT&T teamed with Interactive Intelligence as subcontractor to provide FEMA this highly-secure, state of the art, software-based solution. FEMA awarded the contract to AT&T under the General Services Administration's Networx Universal contracting program for telecommunications services.

Communications Workers of America Ratifies Agreement with AT&T Corp

AT&T announced that wireline employees represented by the Communications Workers of America have voted to ratify a three-year contract for AT&T Corp. The AT&T Corp. contract covers about 4,500 employees located throughout the country. Earlier June 26, 2015, employees represented by the CWA also voted to ratify a three-year contract for the AT&T Midwest region, covering about 12,000 employees in Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Ohio and Wisconsin. Both tentative agreements were reached on May 13, and were unanimously endorsed by the CWA bargaining committees that spent over nine weeks working with the company's bargaining teams to reach fair agreements. The contracts are retroactive to April 12, 2015.
