It's Hard to Put a Happy Face on 2015

A joyful emoji was the Oxford Dictionaries's word of the year, but refugees dominated Europe's conversation.

The Oxford Dictionaries' selection for 2015 Word of the Year -- the "Face with Tears of Joy" emoji -- suggests that U.K. linguists live in a rather carefree world. In other countries, the selections were not as upbeat.
