Well, jobs are important so I'll go with the jobs report from yesterday as something important. I hope someone can come up with something better than that.

Lots of Congressional talking points that weren't important this week; I'll mention the flailing around on the debt limit. That John Boehner has to do it is actually important for what it says about his conference; the various attempts and false starts don't matter much.

So that's what I have. What about you? What do you think mattered this week?
