It certainly is striking, and perhaps it even matters, that Rick Perry -- who, remember, thinks he's running for president -- went soft on weed this week. I didn't see that coming.

What didn't matter? I don't think Wendy Davis has much chance to win, but the small-scale stuff uncovered this week shouldn't make much difference, and will be forgotten (at least by swing voters) long before November.

(Yes, that's two Texas-based items from your Texas-based blogger. First time it's ever happened. Probably the last, too.)
