Word to Fed: Less Talk, More Action

The Federal Reserve offers confusing words about when it's going to start scaling back its effort to influence long-term interest rates.

Let's cut to the chase. At the July 30-31 meeting of the Federal Reserve's Open Market Committee, "almost all Committee members agreed that a change in the purchase program was not yet appropriate," according to the minutesreleased at 2 p.m. today.
