China Airlines, Ltd., together with its subsidiaries, provides passengers and air cargo transportation services. The company offers air transport, ground, air transport support, aerospace technology, logistics and warehousing, tourism and leisure, investment and leasing, and aircraft maintenance services. It also provides cleaning of aircraft cabins, exteriors, parts, and accessories; washing services; and repair services for air cargo containers and cabin trolleys. As of November 30, 2017, the company’s fleet consisted of 85 aircraft, including 67 passenger jets and 18 freighters. Further, it operates a five-star hotel under the Novotel brand name. The company was founded in 1959 and is headquartered in Taoyuan City, Taiwan. China Airlines, Ltd. is a subsidiary of China Aviation Development Foundation.

Qantas Airways Extends Codeshare Agreement with China Airlines

Qantas Airways Ltd has expanded its codeshare agreement with China Airlines Ltd. As part of the transaction, China Airlines will operate its new three class A350 aircraft with the choice of business, premium economy and economy from Sydney to Taipei A350 services will commence from February 20, 2018 and followed by Melbourne to Taipei and Brisbane to Taipei from March 25, 2018. China Airlines already operates up to twice daily service between Sydney and Taipei, up to daily service between Brisbane and Taipei and three times weekly service between Melbourne and Taipei.

China Airlines to Transport Formosat-5 to Los Angeles

China Airlines has announced that it was chosen to transport "Formosat-5", Taiwan's first domestically designed satellite, and the satellite departed for Los Angeles aboard a Boeing 747-400 freighter.
