In addition, the company offers automotive-related components, including air-conditioners, turbochargers, car collision simulators, and industrial machine tools, as well as multilevel parking facilities; industrial equipment for chemical plants that produce the raw materials for plastic products, printing presses for newspapers and magazines, and medical equipment for radiotherapy, as well as air-conditioning and refrigeration systems; and construction machinery, as well as the anti-vibration and isolation systems, including roads, tunnels, subways, telecommunications, water supply and sewage, and energy distribution network systems. Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Ltd. and Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Thermal Systems, Ltd. has expanded production at Mitsubishi Heavy Industries-Mahajak Air Conditioners Co., Ltd. (MACO), its joint venture company in Thailand to manufacture and sell residential and commercial use air conditioning systems. Facilities at the two existing factories have been expanded and upgraded, and construction completed and production begun at a new third factory and electrical assembly works. The aim of the capacity expansion is to further develop MACO to be a central production facility to meet growing demand worldwide for residential and commercial air conditioners, especially in Asia. The increase in production capacity is expected to boost production volume to 2.7 million pieces by fiscal 2020, a 30% increase compared to fiscal 2015. It will also enhance productivity through changes in facilities and production methods, and synchronization of assembly, as well as strengthen cost competitiveness and reduce inventories of work in process and finished products.

Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Ltd. reported earnings results for the nine months ended December 31, 2017. For the period, the company reported that compared with the previous year, there have been the decrease of about JPY 80 billion. It now stands at JPY 2,577,600,000,000, and net sales were JPY 2,851,000,000,000, an increase of JPY 157 billion. Operating income was 2.8%, which is an increase of about JPY 11.5 billion. Ordinary income was JPY 91.1 billion, which is a large increase year-on-year. Ordinary income was higher than operating income, so it is the positive of about JPY 11.5 billion. Some of the temporary losses have been recorded for the extraordinary losses. So the total figure was JPY 24.7 billion for the profit attributable to owners of the parent and this is the positive improvement of JPY 36 billion. EBITDA have been an increase of JPY 150 -- JPY 14.6 billion over the previous year. Interest-bearing debt at Dec. 2017 was JPY 1,215,000,000,000. Free cash flows were negative JPY 268.5 billion. For the full year of fiscal 2018, the company expects net sales of JPY 4,050 billion, free cash flow of JPY 100 billion, operating income of JPY 180 billion, ordinary income of JPY 170 billion, profit attributable to owners of parent of JPY 80 million, ROE of 4.4% and EBITDA of JPY 370 billion.
