S P Setia In Talks To Acquire I&P

S P Setia Berhad (KLSE:SPSETIA) has begun exclusive talks to acquire I&P Group Sdn. Berhad. Permodalan Nasional Berhad is set to be the biggest winner. S P Setia says it is eyeing the entire stake in I&P, valued at an estimated RM3.5 billion to RM3.75 billion, subject to a due diligence process.

SP Setia (Indonesia) Sdn Bhd, Sime Darby Berhad and I&P Group Sdn. Berhad Announce Not to Pursue the Joint Venture

The Board of Directors of S P Setia announced that with reference to the company’s announcements dated 2 August 2016 and 27 October 2016 in relation to the MOU, S P Setia (Indonesia), Sime Darby and I&P have decided not to pursue the joint venture and are exercising the right to terminate the MOU in accordance with the terms in the MOU, with immediate effect.

Sime Darby Bhd, I&P Group Sdn Bhd and SP Setia (Indonesia) Sdn Bhd Sign Memorandum of Understanding with Pt Hanson International Tbk to Jointly Develop Housing Project in Jakarta

Sime Darby Bhd, I&P Group Sdn Bhd and SP Setia (Indonesia) Sdn Bhd signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with PT Hanson International Tbk to jointly develop about 500ha in Maja, Tangerang, 80km from Jakarta. The project has a gross development value of IDR 11.29 trillion (MYR 3.5 billion). Under the MoU, the companies will form a joint venture where the Malaysian companies have an equity interest of 20% each, while PT Hanson will hold the remaining 40%. The parties will continue negotiations to finalise the details and work on an agreement in three months. Maja is located to the west of Jakarta and is near industrial areas in the Banten province, where there are about 400,000 people working in 1,500 factories. It is about 90 minutes from central Jakarta by train.
