Zongshen Eyes Stakes In Seaplane Operators

Zongshen Industrial Group Co., Ltd. plans to purchase a stake in the biggest seaplane airline in the Maldives this year, in an expansion aimed at becoming the world's No 1 operator of the aircraft, Chairman Zuo Zongshen said. Zongshen proposes to spend "billions of yuan" to buy into the Maldivian carrier, Zuo said, without elaborating. The group, based in the southwestern Chinese city of Chongqing, is also in talks to acquire a stake in Kenmore Air Harbor, Inc. A potential target in the Maldives could be Trans Maldivian Airways, according to its website.

Zongshen Industrial Group Plans Build Engine Plant in US

Zongshen Industrial Group announced that the company plans to spend over USD 100 million building an engine plant in the US this year at the earliest. The project, with an annual output capacity of 3 million engines, is scheduled to come into production before the end of next year. The company would step up establishment of the US business if the US raised tariffs. In addition, Zongshen also plans to buy in Kenmore Air this year.

Zongshen Industrial Group Mulls Acquisitions

Zongshen Industrial Group Co., Ltd. is seeking acquisitions. The company plans to spend at least CNY 2 billion to acquire overseas general aviation firms this year, the company's chairman said.
