QImaging released the MicroPublisher 6 camera, a new color image solution for documentation and publication. The camera delivers high resolution documentation images with a large field of view and accurate color representation. Available upon request, customers will also receive QImaging's Ocular scientific image acquisition software, a $600 value that provides easy-to-use tools for microscopy and imaging. The MicroPublisher 6 delivers six million 4.54 micron pixels for maximum detail capture with low powered objectives such as 10, 20 and 40 times magnification. The camera's 16mm diagonal sensor provides twice the field of view of standard color sensors, giving scientists the ability to capture more of the sample area in each image. The camera also incorporates low read noise electronics, and cooling to remove hot pixels and dark current, making it a suitable imaging option for high quality fluorescence documentation. Initially released with the Retiga R Series cameras, Ocular was built from the ground up as a reliable part of daily research tasks. The software provides a familiar and intuitive user experience and the most current version 1.1 provides innovative and easy to use movie modes and saving functions. Photometrics and QImaging to Unveil New Camera for Biomedical Applications

Photometrics, along with QImaging, is set to unveil new QI400BSI scientific CMOS camera at the SPIE Photonics West event in the US. The event will take place in San Francisco in January. Developed for biomedical instrumentation manufacturers, the new camera features the first scientific-grade backside illuminated (BSI) CMOS sensor that offers the highest quantum efficiency (QE). For biomedical applications, BSI technology’s extreme QE will enable the new camera to deliver new depths of sensitivity to any imaging or detection application. With a combination of extreme sensitivity, low noise and high frame rates, the new camera is an ideal solution for low-light imaging. The camera’s near-perfect QE enables to collect all available light, maximizing the measurable signal from the experiment or assay while minimizing cellular photo damage. It can capture 41 frames per second with 16-bit images and 82fps with 12-bit images.
