General Electric In Talks To Sell GE Lighting

General Electric Company (NYSE:GE) is in talks to sell GE Lighting, LLC. General Electric announced in an internal email today its intent to sell GE Lighting. Alicia Gauer, Director of communications at GE Lighting, said, "We are beginning conversations with prospective buyers. Strategic options will be considered based on final terms with potential buyers and may include different buyers for different parts of the business. The proposed sale will not include professional lighting or other products and services sold through Current, powered by GE. There are no immediate plans to move GE Lighting employees or current, powered by GE, employees who work at Nela Park in East Cleveland. An internal email from GE Lighting Chief Executive Officer Bill Lacey was posted at EdisonReport.net explaining plans for the sale. The email emphasized that talks are in the early stages and that GE Lighting could consider several strategic options.
