Canada Deposit Insurance Corporation is a federal crown corporation that provides deposit insurance against the loss of eligible deposits at member institutions in the event of failure. The company offers deposit insurance against savings accounts, checking accounts, term deposits, debentures, money orders and bank drafts, and cheques. Its members include banks, federally regulated credit unions, and loan and trust companies and associations governed by the Cooperative Credit Associations Act that take deposits. The company was founded in 1967 and is based in Ottawa, Canada.

The Canada Deposit Insurance Corporation (CDIC) announced that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Autorité des marchés financiers (AMF). The signing of a cooperation arrangement strengthens the collaboration between the CDIC and the SRB to better protect depositors.
