Jama Software Announces Update to its Jama 8.10
Dec 1 16
Jama Software announced a major update to its product, Jama 8.10. Companies building complex products in medical, semiconductor, aerospace and automotive industries rely on Jama for more intuitive requirements definition, verification and validation. With its new feature enhancements, Jama is evolving the way traceability can be used in the product development process by giving product development teams the ability to see, in real time, the upstream and downstream impact of their decisions. In the past, traceability has been seen as a static component of the product development process, introduced at the end in order to fulfill audit requirements. For companies achieving compliance within regulated industries, linking data, people and results to requirements is an essential part of proving both the product specification and the development process. With Jama 8.10, the Trace View feature allows data to be accessed by all users at any time, providing powerful context for daily decision-making needs. No longer an afterthought, Live Traceability is built directly into the product development process, allowing users to see missing relationships, address development gaps and easily understand the impact of decisions and actions. The historical, exportable audit trail builds as user go, simply as a result of using Jama. The release also includes more functionality around relationships in baselines and relationships in review center. For companies regulated by agencies such as the FDA, FAA and financial regulators, Jama's traceability features provide detailed, meaningful documentation describing how the product works, who built it and why. Traceability documentation also supports product developers working with outside vendors such as contract manufacturers and customers within an ecosystem. The release of Jama 8.10 follows a series of significant product and ecosystem enhancements in 2016 including the release of Jama 8 and the launch of the company's technology alliance.
Jama Software Announces Partnership with No Magic
Sep 28 16
Jama Software announced a partnership with No Magic. The partnership results from the increasing demand on organizations to connect teams within an ecosystem of tools and processes specific to requirements solicitation and design. Beginning with a referral partnership, the companies will work with mutual customers to enhance product quality and speed of delivery through requirements and modeling collaboration. The partnership is expected to expand over time to include integrations and flows based on customer needs. Because both partners believe in open standards, such as REST API, OSLC and ReqIF, there are multiple opportunities for integrations based on customer needs. Utilizing each company's open platforms, Jama and No Magic are collaborating with existing customers to bring teams together from concept to design. Systems development has become increasingly complex, as underlying technology platforms have advanced exponentially over the past 10 years. These factors are compounded by increased pressure from consumers for up-to-the-minute access to new technologies, as well as broadening application of functional safety standards across industries. As a result, product companies and suppliers are seeking product development solutions that are open and that integrate well, reducing the engineering overhead of context switching and business cost of missed information or insights. Jama's partnership with No Magic follows the introduction of the Jama Alliance and Innovator Partner Program, which expand availability of the Jama solution and support the evolution of modern product delivery through partnerships with best-of-breed organizations, academic institutions and technology incubators.
