Silicon Storage Technology, Inc. Key Developments

Silicon Storage Technology Announces Qualification of Embedded SuperFlash® on 110 nm CMOS Process

Silicon Storage Technology announced qualification and availability of SST’s third-generation embedded SuperFlash® (ESF3) non-volatile memory (NVM) on 110 nm Complementary Metal-Oxide-Semiconductor (CMOS) platform. SST’s embedded SuperFlash memory solution offers low power, high reliability, superior data retention and high endurance benefits to smart card, microcontroller (MCU) and other Flash-enabled specialized IC designers with a cost-effective, embedded Flash solution. In smart card applications, the fast erase time and low power offers a uniquely low energy envelope that is critical for enabling low-power applications such as Near Field Communication (NFC) and dual-interface smart cards. For the first time SST’s ESF3 technology is available to fabless and Integrated Device Manufacturers (IDMs) on a highly cost-effective 8-inch 110 nm CMOS platform. This ESF3 platform is qualified for 300,000 erase and program cycles, making it ideally suited for smart card and other high-endurance IC designs.

StarChip’s Secure IC for Bank Cards Enabled by Silicon Storage Technology’s SuperFlash® Technology

Microchip Technology Inc., through its Silicon Storage Technology announced their embedded SuperFlash® technology is enabling secure bank cards through a secure integrated circuit (IC) from StarChip®, a subsidiary of SAFRAN Security & Identity. The IC, SCB136, was developed and fabricated on HHGrace’s 110 nm embedded non-volatile memory (eNVM) process platform licensed from SST.

Silicon Storage Technology Announces Production Readiness of Embedded SuperFlash® Macros on SilTerra's 180 nm CMOS Platform

Microchip Technology Inc. through its Silicon Storage Technology (SST) subsidiary, announced that silicon-proven SuperFlash® macros are now available on SilTerra's 180 nm CMOS technology. The off-the-shelf macros allow SilTerra customers access to SST's unique SuperFlash non-volatile memory (NVM) technology in a range of competitive-size memory blocks.  SST's SuperFlash technology is broadly deployed and in high-volume production at multiple integrated device manufacturers (IDMs) and foundry partners like SilTerra.  Therefore, SST's high-density, reliable and high-yielding memory is widely available to many customers in various markets. By providing pre-qualified macros up to 2 Mb, SilTerra is enabling its customers with faster time to market, especially important to customers in the growing Internet of Things (IoT) and smart card markets.
