BP America Inc. Announces Management Changes

BP PLC named a new top leader for the U.S. on March 20, 2018. Susan Dio will take over as chair and president of BP America Inc. on May 1. She succeeds John Mingé, who is moving out of the position to chair a study by the National Petroleum Council into carbon capture, utilization and storage technologies. Dio, who is CEO of BP Shipping, will be BP's first female chair and president. In March 2019, Mingé will retire from BP after around 35 years with the company. While working on the study, Mingé will continue advising BP. Mingé has led BP America since February 2013, when he succeeded Lamar McKay. Prior to his current post, he spent four years running BP's business in Alaska and previously held executive and engineering posts in the U.S., U.K., Vietnam and Indonesia. Dio has been CEO of BP Shipping, for the past three years. She oversaw the ‘review and reset’ of BP Shipping's strategy and operations as well as the ongoing renewal of the fleet, per the release. She's also been with BP and heritage companies for 33 years and has held several senior commercial and operating roles in the U.S., U.K. and Australia.
