BAM Construct UK Wins £80 Million Contract to Build Office Development in Birmingham

BAM Construct UK has been awarded an £80 million contract by Rockspring Property Investment Managers (Rockspring) and Sterling Property Ventures (Sterling) to construct office building in Birmingham, UK. The new development, 103 Colmore Row, will comprise 223,631ft2 of office space over 20 floors, and 7,665ft2 of restaurant space on the ground and top floors. The building, designed by architects Doone Silver Kerr, will feature a winter garden, 18th floor terrace and multi-purpose lobby business lounges. At 346ft/105.5m high, with the apex 246m above sea level, it will be the highest new office building under construction outside London. BAM will commence the main substructure works in early June after the completion of the site survey and pre-construction design. The 26-storey building is expected to be completed in the third quarter of 2020.Joint agents Cushman & Wakefield and Knight Frank will market the office space at 103 Colmore Row. Average floorplates are 12,000ft2 and will be BREEAM excellent rated.
BAM Construct UK Ltd. Receives £26 Million Leisure Centre Project

Dover District Council has given the go ahead for the construction of a new £26 million Dover District Leisure Centre. Construction will start on the 2.1ha site in Whitfield later this month with a planned opening early in 2019. Following competitive tenders, the Council has awarded a contract to BAM Construction to create the new leisure centre. The project to replace the current 40-year old Dover Leisure Centre represents a major investment in the district’s sport and leisure facilities and is supported by Sport England with a National Lottery award of £1.5 million from its Strategic Facilities Fund. The new Dover District Leisure Centre will feature a competition standard eight-lane swimming pool with spectator seating for 250 people, learner pool with moveable floor, four court sports hall, squash courts, multi-function room, fitness gym with 120 stations, fitness studios, clip ‘n’ climb wall, and a café. The plans also include two outdoor 3G artificial pitches for five-a-side football and a minimum of 250 parking spaces.

BAM Construction has been appointed by Hub East Central Scotland to redevelop Perth City Hall on behalf of Perth & Kinross Council. The reimagined building will create a new 1,500 m flexible exhibition hall that can accommodate displays of differing content and scale. It will not only be a home to permanent collections of local archaeology and social history, but will also be able to host touring exhibitions. The wider plans include a 150m learning suite, 250m collections handling area and up to 275m of commercial visitor facilities including a cafe and retail area.
