NPGCL And Others To Be Privatized

Northern Power Generation Company Limited (NPGCL) may be sold. After detailed discussion Privatization Commission Board (PCB) of Pakistan has decided to seek approval of the government to privatize NPGCL, Faisalabad Electric Supply Company Limited (FESCO) and Islamabad Electric Supply Company Limited (IESCO) as strategic sale. A press release stated that PCB also discussed and adopted accounts in respect of the Commission and constituted committees to resolve outstanding administrative and financial issues. The PCB extended their approval to initiate next steps for the privatization of SME Bank Ltd. and Heavy Electrical Complex (Pvt.) Ltd. It was hoped that privatization of this entities would soon take place to facilitate the improvements required for the entities. The Board also decided to work out a detailed plan to suggest way forward regarding hiring of Financial Advisers to divest GoP shares in Mari Petroleum Company Limited (KASE:MARI). Privatization Commission's Board was apprised about the progress in proposed privatization of Pakistan Steel Mills Corporation (PVT) LTD. The prospects of privatization of Pakistan International Airlines Corporation Limited (KASE:PIAA) were also deliberated at length in the PC Board Meeting.

Faisalabad Electric Supply Company Limited Issues Shutdown Program

Faisalabad Electric Supply Company has issued shutdown program on August 10, 2017 due to necessary repair, maintenance and expansion of electricity lines. According to the program issued by the company power supply from Sufi Rehman Mills feeder emanating from 132-KV HBS grid station will remain suspended from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. while Gardana, Sadhar, Data, Islam Pura, Jinnah and Sarshmeer feeders originating from 132-KV Jhang Road grid station, Barkat Pura, Ahmad Nagar, Al-Masoom and Niamoana feeders emanating from 132-KV Jhang Road grid station will observe shutdown from 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 noon on Thursday (August 10). Similarly, electricity supply from Lahore Road and Chawla feeders originating from 132-KV Khurarianwala grid station, Dijkot City and Maan Pur feeders emanating from 220-KV Sammundri Road grid station will remain suspended from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. whereas Rehmat Abad, Ghazi Abad, NTU and Bhaiwala feeders originating from 132-KV Nishatabad grid station will observe load shedding from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on August 10. Meanwhile, power supply from Gulshan Colony and Jalal Street feeders emanating from 132-KV University grid station, Liaqat Abad, Ali Housing (Safety), Afghan Abad, Dhandra and Muhammad-Pura feeders originating from 132-KV Jhang Road grid station, City SMI, Shareef Abad and Fareed feeders emanating from 132-KV Sammundri grid station, Kotla and Aslam Shaheed feeders originating from 132-KV Mureedwala grid station, Jhamra, Sammundri Road and Aalam Shah feeders emanating from 132-KV Tandlianwala grid station, Sheeraza feeder originating from 132-KV Manjhala Bagh grid station, Yasrab feeder emanating from 132-KV OTP grid station, Darul Ehsan and PC-II feeders originating from 132-KV F-Area grid station, College Road, Amin Abad (Safety), Miani and Elyas Garden feeders emanating from 132-KV Sammundri Road grid station, Bismillah-Pur, WASA (Safety) and Hilal Road (Safety) feeders originating from 132-KV Factory Area grid station, Muzaffar Shaheed feeder emanating from 132-KV Thikriwala grid station, Subhan Abad, Amin Pur and Munir Abad feeders originating from 132-KV Narwala grid station will also remain suspended from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on (August 10, 2017).
