China State Shipbuilding Corporation and China National Travel Service Group Corporation Jointly Launches Small, Medium Cruise Ship Project

China State Shipbuilding Corporation and China National Travel Service Group Corporation have jointly launch a small and medium cruise ship project. The 18 cruise ships in operation along the coast of China were built by foreign shipbuilders and are operated by international cruise ship companies. The two companies establish a professional team and bring in and upgrade ship models so as to build high-end and personalized small and medium cruise ship fleets. The two strive to deliver China's first homebuilt small and medium cruise ship in Guangzhou by 2021.

China State Shipbuilding Corporation and Wartsila Establish New Electrical & Automation joint venture

Wartsila and China State Shipbuilding Corporation have signed a new joint venture company agreement. The new joint venture, to be known as CSSC Wartsila Electrical & Automation Co Ltd. (CWE&A), will focus on the growing Chinese electrical & automation (E&A) market, especially for high-tech ship applications. The joint venture company is expected to be fully operational before the middle of 2017. CWE&A will supply China based customers with Wartsila electrical and automation systems and equipment for these ships. The business scope will include project engineering, project management, commissioning and supply management of automation, navigation and communication systems, dynamic positioning systems, electric propulsion systems, power distribution systems, entertainment systems, architectural lighting, safety and security systems, and full systems integration. The joint venture owners are CSSC Electronics Technology Co Ltd. and Wartsila.

Carnival Signs Agreement to Purchase Two China-Built Cruise Ships from China State Shipbuilding Corp and Fincantieri

Carnival agreed to purchase the cruise industry's first ships built in China for what it hopes is a burgeoning Chinese market. Carnival has signed a memorandum of agreement to order two new cruise ships that will be built by China State Shipbuilding Corp. and Fincantieri. The memorandum also gives Carnival the option to order two more of the ships built in China. Carnival will use the ships to help launch the first multi-ship domestic cruise brand in China. They will be designed to fit "the specific tastes of Chinese travelers. The first ship is expected to be delivered in 2022.
