C.D. Howe Institute Names Rich Kruger as Co-Chair of the Energy Policy Council and to the Board of Directors

William Robson, President and CEO of the C.D. Howe Institute, announced the appointment of Rich Kruger, president and CEO of Imperial Oil Limited, as Co-Chair of the Institute’s Energy Policy Council. Kruger, who also serves on the Board of Directors of the C.D. Howe Institute, joins the Council’s Founding Chair Elyse Allan, president and CEO of GE Canada. Since 2013, Kruger has served as CEO, chairman, and president of Imperial Oil Limited. Previously, he was president and vice president of operations for ExxonMobil Production Co. His career with ExxonMobil began in 1981 and has spanned a variety of roles and regions, including appointments in Malaysia, former Soviet Union, Africa, and the Middle East.

Howard Wetston Joins as Senior Fellow at C.D. Howe Institute

Former Ontario Securities Commission chair Howard Wetston has been appointed a senior fellow at the C.D. Howe Institute. Mr. Wetston, left the OSC in November after a six-year term heading Canada's securities regulator. C.D. Howe chief executive officer William Robson said he is enthusiastic about working with Mr. Wetston because of his long history of work in various areas of public policy. Before joining the OSC in 2010, Mr. Wetston was CEO of the Ontario Energy Board and headed the federal Competition Bureau. He is also a former Federal Court of Canada trial judge.
