SC Grants Time Till May 15 To Sahara India For Sale Of Aamby Valley Property

The Supreme Court allowed Sahara India Pariwar Ltd. to sell any parcel of its Aamby Valley City in Maharashtra by May 15, 2018. A special bench headed by Chief Justice Dipak Misra made it clear that if Sahara fails to sell its property by May 15, 2018, the Bombay High Court's official liquidator will proceed with the proposed auctioning process to sell the property.

Mahindra, Piramal Shows Interest In Aamby Valley

The Supreme Court has been informed that Mahindra Lifespace Developers Limited (BSE:532313) and Piramal Enterprises Limited (BSE:500302) have shown interest in buying Aamby Valley City from the Sahara India Pariwar Ltd. The project is valued at INR 340 billion and has been put up for liquidation.

Sahara May Sell Ny Hotels To Royale Partners For $800 Million

Royale Partners Investment Fund is expected to be the new owner of Sahara India Pariwar Ltd's two luxury hotels The Plaza and Dream Downtown in New York. The deal is estimated to be worth slightly below $800 million, including debt. A share-purchase agreement has also been worked out between Sahara and Royale Partners. Royale Partners Investment Fund might have transferred about $300 million into an escrow account. Sahara was directed to deposit about Rs8,000 crore with SEBI as per the order of the Supreme Court.
