CEMATRIX Corporation Announces Renewed Commitment with Lafarge Canada Inc

CEMATRIX Corporation announced that Lafarge Canada Inc. has re-affirmed a strengthened commitment to CEMATRIX, including increased sales and marketing support for the development of cellular concrete markets across Canada. The overall objective of the agreements for both parties continues to be to work together to increase sales of cellular concrete, which in turn results in the sale of more cement and ready mix products for Lafarge.

Steelworkers Local 816 Members and Lafarge Enter Tentative Agreement

Members of United Steelworkers (USW) Local 816, locked out by Lafarge Canada at the Texada Island limestone mine since Oct. 17, 2016, have reached a tentative agreement with their employer. After previous offers were rejected the parties agreed to return to the bargaining table. As a result the USW secured an agreement with no concessions, maintained seniority rights and secured wage and benefit increases similar to other collective agreements in the sector. USW Local 816 bargaining committee will provide members with details of the tentative agreement, followed by a ratification vote.

Cematrix (Canada) Inc. Announces Agreements to Develop Regional Cellular Concrete Markets with Lafarge Canada Inc

CEMATRIX Corporation announced that its subsidiary, CEMATRIX (Canada) Inc. has entered into agreements directed at developing regional markets for CEMATRIX cellular concrete through Lafarge Canada Inc. These new five year agreements between Lafarge and CEMATRIX are focused on locating equipment in a specific regional market, where Lafarge has a physical presence, including a sales force. Once the equipment is in place, both Lafarge and CEMATRIX have committed to focus their joint resources on the development of this new regional market for cellular concrete. Sales from this new market focus will take time to develop, as will sales from the previously announced joint marketing agreement that is focused on larger cement supplied projects on a national basis.
