Navicent Health and Emory Healthcare Announce Surgical Partnership

Navicent Health in Macon and Emory Healthcare are announcing a collaborative clinical partnership. The agreement includes a formal restructuring of Navicent Health's cardiothoracic (CT) surgery service line, extending the range of CT procedures available to patients in Macon and the surrounding region. The new affiliation has been endorsed by Navicent Health's Board of Directors and Emory Healthcare's leadership with the intention of preserving the high quality clinical work presently taking place at Navicent Health. The collaboration is under the direction of cardiothoracic surgeon Robert Guyton, MD, FACC, Charles Ross Hatcher, Jr. Professor of Surgery at Emory University School of Medicine.
Victoria Jordan Joins Emory Healthcare in Quality, Kennedy Initiative Positions

Victoria Jordan, PhD, MBA, has been named the corporate director of quality at Emory Healthcare, and the director of performance improvement and analytics for the James Cox Kennedy Initiative for Patient-Centered Care. In her role as corporate director for quality, she will develop, plan, coordinate and implement quality clinical improvement efforts across Emory Healthcare. This includes strategic over site of quality initiatives across all of Emory's hospitals, its many primary care clinics and specialty clinics. In her position with the Kennedy Initiative for Patient-Centered Care, a new role, Jordan will lead the effort to define and operationalize the vision of expanding performance improvement, while providing quality education and training to staff. Jordan came to Emory from M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, where she served as executive director of Strategic Management and Systems Engineering.
Emory Healthcare Appoints Christy M. Norman as Vice President of Pharmacy Services

Emory Healthcare announced that Christy M. Norman, PharmD, MS, has been named vice president of pharmacy services at the company. Norman comes to Emory from Augusta University Medical Center, where she held the positions of administrative director of pharmacy and director of pharmacy residency programs. She is also a clinical assistant professor at the University of Georgia College of Pharmacy. In this newly created position, Norman will lead pharmacy services across Emory Healthcare's full enterprise, providing strategic leadership to manage pharmacy services, as well as administrative support to all hospital and clinic pharmacies throughout the Emory system. She will also oversee safety and performance standard processes in compliance with organizational and regulatory guidelines.
