Cal Dooley Agrees to Delay Retirement and Extend Tenure as President and CEO of American Chemistry Council Through 2019

The American Chemistry Council announced that Cal Dooley has agreed to delay his retirement and extend his tenure as President and CEO through 2019. In April, Dooley announced his intention to retire at the end of 2018. The decision to delay retirement comes after ACC's Annual Meeting which took place June 4th through June 6th in Colorado Springs, CO, where the board of directors agreed that the chemicals and plastics industry must take a global leadership role to reduce and ultimately eliminate plastic waste. Korn Ferry International was retained to conduct the search for Dooley's replacement when his retirement was announced in April 2018. With Dooley's announcement on June 11, 2018, Korn Ferry's efforts have been suspended, but they will resume their search in mid-2019.
American Chemistry Council Appoints Deepak Parikh to its Board

Clariant announced that Deepak Parikh, Clariant's Region President of North America, has been appointed to the Board of Directors of the American Chemistry Council (ACC). Parikh was approved to serve on the Board of Directors during the ACC Annual Meeting in Colorado Springs (CO), for a term from January 1, 2019 until December 31, 2021. Parikh joined Clariant's North American region as Region President and chief executive officer of both Clariant Corporation and Clariant Canada Inc. in July 2017. Parikh, a U.S. citizen, most recently served as Clariant's Region President for India, Midde East Africa as well as vice chairman and managing director of Clariant Chemicals (India) Limited. During the previous two decades, he worked with Dow Chemical and DuPont in the USA and Asia where he held various global and regional leadership roles in research and development, commercial and business development functions.
