The Brooklyn Hospital Center (TBHC) and The Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM) announced a three-year partnership to deliver arts and health wellness programs targeting new audiences, patients, local communities, and employees at both institutions. Under the agreement, TBHC becomes the official health care provider of BAM ' America's oldest performing arts center. TBHC will collaborate with BAM to offer access to clinician-led workshops, screenings, and wellness activities highlighting the connection between health and the arts. BAM will deliver on-site programming at TBHC. The partnership announcement comes as TBHC recently received The American Heart Association/American Stroke Association's Get With The Guidelines® (GWTG) Heart Failure and Stroke Gold Plus Quality Achievement Awards for implementing some of the best medical practices for patient heart care.

The Brooklyn Hospital Center (TBHC) announced the appointment of Pratibha Vemulapalli, MD as Chair of the Department of Surgery. Dr. Vemulapalli will provide clinical and administrative leadership for the Department of Surgery, which consists of 11 divisions, over 100 surgeons, and 25 residents and fellows. Dr. Vemulapalli previously served as Director of Bariatric Surgery at Montefiore Medical Center and Director of Perioperative Services at Montefiore Bronx Hospitals and Ambulatory Surgery Centers; she also was an Attending Surgeon at Montefiore Medical Center and Jack D. Weiler Hospital.

The Brooklyn Hospital Center announced Patrick Semenza, CPA as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer and Katherine Schleider, MHA, RN as Senior Vice President, Clinical Integration & Population Health. As CFO, Patrick is responsible for developing and monitoring the Hnancial position of the hospital, as well as advising on corporate strategy, business decisions, Hnancial planning, and management. He oversees the Departments of Financial Reporting, Budget/Reimbursement, Treasury, and Materials Management.
