PT Garuda Indonesia (Persero) Tbk Plans to Form a Code-Share Partnership with PT Sriwijaya Air

PT Garuda Indonesia (Persero) Tbk. has announced its plan to form a code-share partnership with PT Sriwijaya Air. Both companies involved in the transaction are based in Indonesia. Under the terms of the agreement, Yogyakarta-Palembang route operated by Sriwijaya will be offered by Garuda to its customers, Jakarta-Sampit via Semarang route, the Jakarta-Semarang flight will be operated by Garuda, meanwhile the Semarang-Sampit route will be operated by Sriwijaya. Following the transaction, both Garuda Indonesia and Sriwijaya seek to expand their own service by providing more flight options to customers of their airlines, which include Garuda Indonesia, Citilink, Sriwijaya Air and NAM Air. Pahala N. Mansury is the director of Garuda Indonesia, while Chandra Lie is the president of Sriwijaya.

Sriwijaya Postpones IPO

PT Sriwijaya Air has decided to postpone its initial public offering (IPO) to May, two months behind schedule, requiring more time to prepare. The airline may also revise the size of the IPO, Chandra Lie, Sriwijaya Air President Director, said on January 18, 2017. "We are taking everything into consideration so that everything is in order," Chandra said.

Sriwijaya Seeks To Sell 25% Capital Stake In IPO

PT Sriwijaya Air will sell 25% of its enlarged capital in its planned initial public offering, slated for March, to purchase more medium- and long-range jets to expand the company's overseas operations. "The IPO's proceeds will be allocated to buy 15 narrow-body jets and two wide-body fleet," Sriwijaya Air president director Chandra Lie said.
