The Russian government will postpone consideration of the bids for stakes in Eurasia Drilling Company Limited until February-March 2018.

Sale Of Stake In EDC To Be Considered Before End Of 2017

The Governmental Commission on Foreign Investments will consider the sale of a stake of 16.1% in Eurasia Drilling Company Limited (EDC) before the end of 2017. Applicants for the purchase include a consortium of investors (Russian Direct Investment Fund, Russia-China Investment Fund, funds in the Middle East and China-Eurasian Economic Cooperation Fund) and Schlumberger Limited (NYSE:SLB).

Antitrust To Mull RDIF, Mubadala Bid For EDC Stake

The Federal Antimonopoly Service and other authorities will consider a bid of Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) and Mubadala Investment Company to buy a stake in Eurasia Drilling Company Limited (EDC) within a month and a half, the service's head Igor Artemyev told reporters. “We are currently in the coordination process with the authorities, as you know, this procedure takes from a month to a month and a half. Usually around two (months), but we try to do all this during a month. That's why I believe that this proposal is one of the most interesting proposals, now all authorized bodies, first of all the Natural Resources and Environment Ministry, of course, the industry ministry, the Federal Security Service, we are considering this deal," he said.
