Warburg Pincus LLC is planning to acquire a 49% stake in Computer Age Management Services Pvt. Ltd. Warburg has the option to take control of Computer Age and increase its stake in it to as much as 74%.

Four Reportedly In Final Race For CAMS Deal

Four bidders are reportedly in the fray to acquire Computer Age Management Services Pvt. Ltd. (CAMS), in a deal expected to be valued at INR 30 billion. Buyout private equity firms Apax Partners, Partners Group, TA Associates and Blackstone are holding advanced discussions to buy controlling interest after investors, led by National Stock Exchange appointed Rothschild for a share sale, people directly familiar with the matter said. NSE Strategic Investment Corporation (45%), HDFC group (20%) and founder V Shankar-led Acsys Investments (35%) jointly own the Chennai-based CAMS, which has expanded services to include banks, insurance and microfinance companies in recent years. NSE decided to run a sale process after Securities Exchange Board of India (Sebi) started looking into its non-core investments ahead of an initial public offering.

NSE In Talks To Sell 45% Stake In CAMS

The National Stock Exchange of India is looking to sell its 45% stake in Computer Age Management Services Pvt. Ltd. Initial talks with global PE funds such as The Blackstone Group L.P. and The Carlyle Group, and firms like Bank of NY Mellon have already begun, sources said. NSE has mandated investment bank Rothschild to look for buyers.
