John Malone of Liberty Media has discussed a deal to buy all or part of Spanish-language broadcaster Univision Holdings Inc., according to people familiar with the matter.
Isaac Lee Joins Televisa and Univision as Chief Content Officer

Grupo Televisa, S.A.B. and Univision Holdings, Inc. announced a strengthened and expanded relationship between the two companies by unifying both of their content development and production efforts. As part of this initiative, Isaac Lee, who currently serves as the Chief News, Entertainment & Digital Officer for Univision and Chief Executive Officer for Fusion, will assume the role of Chief Content Officer of both Televisa and Univision, effective immediately. His new role unifies the leadership and strategic direction of the production of content for consumers in the United States and Mexico. In his respective role at each company, Lee will continue to directly report to Randy Falco, President and CEO of Univision and will also now report to Emilio Azcárraga Jean, President of Televisa. Univision Holdings, Inc. is eyeing Gawker Media, LLC. Univision has discussed partnering or investing in Gawker, which was racing to raise cash ahead of a whopping $140 million legal judgment against it last month. A Gawker representative confirmed there had been talks with potential partners that most recently resulted in Columbus Nova taking a stake in the gossip destination. "Gawker confirms there have been discussions with Univision about Spanish-language versions of lifestyle sites Gizmodo and Lifehacker," the representative said. Univision declined to comment.
