As a privately funded industry trade association, UITA was started in 1991 as the result of the Governor's task force and his strong recommendation to focus on building the IT sector to substantially impact the state's economy. UITA represents and provides services to hundreds of IT enterprises and to suppliers that provide products and services to the industry.

Utah Technology Council Appoints John Knotwell as President and CEO to Replace Richard R. Nelson

Utah Technology Council (UTC) announced that the Board of Trustees has unanimously appointed John Knotwell as President and CEO. Knotwell succeeds Richard R. Nelson, who will serve as advisor to the Board of Directors. Knotwell is a technology industry veteran, with most recent roles as Chief Revenue Officer at RizePoint where he was responsible for leading worldwide sales, alliances, services, and customer success. Previously, he was Vice President of Sales at Workfront and Vice President of Sales at inContact. John currently serves as Majority Assistant Whip in the Utah House of Representatives.
