Data Solutions
On 3 January 2018, Europe saw the update to the Markets in Financial Instrument Directive (MiFID II) and the accompanying Regulation (MiFIR) come into force. Focusing on the creation of fairer, safer and more efficient markets, this broad piece of financial industry legislation has and will continue to significantly change market structures.
Bloomberg has developed a suite of data solutions to help your firm meet MiFID-related requirements as well as provide integration of the latest reference and market data.

Transparency Data
To help firms comply with new transparency requirements, Bloomberg’s MiFIR Transparency Solution provides data for firms to determine and complete their pre- and post-transparency, transaction and reference data reporting obligations under MiFIR.
The solution covers multiple asset classes and provides key data points such as:
- Instrument identifiers including LEIs, CFI codes and Financial Instrument Short Name
- MiFIR product classifications
- Liquidity status and LIS and SSTI thresholds
- ToTV and uToTV indicators
- Transparency Waiver Data
The Bloomberg MiFIR Transparency data is available via real time, scheduled, and bulk file enterprise data feeds.

OTC ISIN Transparency Solution
Bloomberg’s OTC ISIN Solution provides firms with a full list of active ISINs, enriched with other MiFID-specific data like ToTV, uToTV, and liquidity thresholds available via both bulk file enterprise feed and broadcast service. This solution allows our clients to maintain a solid golden copy for OTC ISINs to meet pre- and post-transparency, transaction and reference data reporting obligations for OTC derivatives under MiFIR.
This data set also allows firms to build a robust data framework to analyze derivative market activity in conjunction with our market data feeds. This provides clients with insight into activity by venue, instrument or sub asset classes and aggregation across different attributes such as ToTV status, currency, underlying, maturity etc.

APA/MTF Market Data
As a result of MiFID II, a large stream of real-time market data has been made available in historically non-transparent asset classes such as Credit, Rates and FX. Bloomberg is on-boarding, aggregating and normalizing pre- and post-trade transparency data from global Approved Publication Arrangements (APAs), Multi-Lateral Trading Facilities (MTFs) and other trading venues to provide in-depth market transparency.
