Bloomberg Intelligence strategists discuss the outlook for US fixed income markets heading into 2022. With the Federal Reserve reducing asset purchases, the Treasury department cutting bond issuance, the market fearing further inflationary pressures, fixed income returns may be challenged for the second straight year – however there are pockets of value to be found across sectors. The Strategists will discuss their views on the US Treasury, Agency Mortgage-Backed Securities, Corporates, and Municipal Bond sectors.

Chief U.S. Interest Rate Strategist

Ira Jersey is the chief U.S. interest rate strategist at Bloomberg Intelligence. He provides both top-down and bottom-up perspectives on U.S. Treasury, money markets and related derivative products. Before joining Bloomberg, he was a strategist for the taxable fixed income teams at Oppenheimer Funds. He spent more than decade in fixed income research at Credit Suisse Securities, most recently as the head of U.S. interest rate strategy, and RBC Capital Markets. Early in his career he held positions at Morgan Stanley Dean Witter and the Vanguard Group.

Erica Adelberg

Senior Mortgage-Backed Securities Analyst

Erica Adelberg is the chief U.S. Mortgage-Backed Securities strategist at Bloomberg Intelligence. Before joining Bloomberg, Erica was a Managing Director: Fixed Income Trading at Seaport Global Holdings LLC. Previous to that Erica spent nearly 20 years as a senior MBS portfolio manager at KBC Bank, New York Life Investment Management, Goldman Sachs Asset Management. Erica began her career as a sell- side MBS research analyst and strategist at Kidder,Peabody and Goldman Sachs before moving to the buyside. Erica earned her bachelor degree in mathematics at University of Chicago and is a Chartered Financial Analyst.

Noel Hebert

Director of FICC Strategy & US Credit Strategist

Noel Hebert is global director of fixed income, currency and commodity strategy for Bloomberg Intelligence. He specializes in U.S. investment grade and high yield corporate credit strategy. Before joining Bloomberg, Noel was chief investment officer for Concannon Wealth Management, an adviser for high net worth clients. Before that, he held a variety of roles, including senior analyst for credit-related hedge funds at HSBC and Palisade Capital. He began his credit career at Moody's Investors Service, where he covered the technology and media sectors as a senior associate. Noel earned his bachelor’s of arts in mathematics from St. Anselm College and is a CFA charterholder.

Eric Kazatsky

Head of Municipal Strategy

Eric Kazatsky has 18 years successful experience involving municipal bonds. He has spent his career in various aspects of the industry including sell side, buy side, a large municipal issuer and now for Bloomberg Intelligence. Eric is Bloomberg Intelligence’s Head of Municipal Strategy and is responsible for creating municipal focused research for Bloomberg Terminal clients. Prior to work at Bloomberg he served as the instiutional desk strategist at Janney Montgomery Scott and municipal portfolio manager SEI Investments. At Janney he distributed weekly research notes specifying relative value opportunities for both Janney inventory and secondary market customer sales. At SEI he oversaw credit and portfolio management for a $3 billion separately managed account platform. Eric has a B.A. in finance and economics from the University of Pittsburgh, an M.B.A. in finance from St. Joseph’s University, and a M.S. in investment management from Temple University.
