Bloomberg Unveils ASKB Roadmap for Clients to Augment their Investment Process with Agentic AI

Enterprise-grade integrations and ASKB Workflows automation bridge the gap between Bloomberg’s interconnected data and a firm’s proprietary knowledge

NEW YORK & LONDON – April 16, 2026 – Bloomberg today announced a roadmap of new capabilities for ASKB, its powerful new conversational AI interface, now in beta, that redefines how financial professionals interact with the Bloomberg Terminal® of the future to augment their entire investment process. By unifying Bloomberg’s interconnected data with a firm’s proprietary house views, ASKB will help users with the intelligence they need to accelerate their investment process through a coordinated network of Bloomberg’s AI agents.

Accelerating the Firm-Wide Investment Process with Deeper Insights

The 2026 roadmap outlines the evolution of ASKB from a discovery tool into a deeply integrated engine for institutional intelligence, utilizing Bloomberg’s multi-decade map of complex market relationships and interconnected data. ASKB will offer a frictionless experience, allowing clients to apply Bloomberg’s AI agents directly within the financial analysis and portfolio management tools they already use on the Bloomberg Terminal. ASKB will enable clients to utilize enterprise-grade quality integrations and ASKB Workflows automation to combine market and proprietary data for deeper intelligence and maximized productivity. These include:

  • ASKB and Portfolio & Risk Analytics (PORT Desktop and PORT Enterprise): Using {PORT <GO>}, investors will be enabled to query their personal and firm-wide security lists to analyze news and data. This helps users more easily gain deeper insight into their portfolios, understand the structure of their portfolios, analyze their positions and active bets, and explain the drivers of historical performance and potential sources of future risk.

Query Example: Which sectors in my US Large Cap portfolio have been most negatively impacted due to US intervention in Iran and the impact on oil? Cite primary and secondary drivers of volatility, as well as top holdings impacted within each sector.

  • ASKB and Research Management Solutions (RMS Enterprise): The integration will enable entire research teams using RMS Enterprise to not only upload their research notes but also create research content, analyze their team’s research content and proprietary financial models, and refine their investment thesis with agentic AI assistance through the full investment research lifecycle.

Query Example: Which of our holdings have sell-side analysts flagged as most exposed to the Iran war, and where do our internal analysts disagree most with the street?

Query Example: Show me our internal research notes from the last 30 days that discuss Iran war-related risks, catalysts and recommended portfolio actions.

  • ASKB and Alternative Data: Using simple queries, investors can nowcast company KPIs with near real-time datasets such as Bloomberg Second Measure credit card transaction data. In addition, users can be entitled for data packages from industry leading providers with reduced latency and additional metrics for even more powerful company research insights alongside consensus estimates.

Query Example: Show me year-on-year growth of Bloomberg Second Measure data for Starbucks on a weekly basis for the last four weeks. How does this compare to estimates for revenue growth for Q2 2026?

  • ASKB and Expert Intelligence: Users can harness Bloomberg’s agentic AI to surface high-value expert insights from providers like Third Bridge, a leading global investment firm with a library of more than 100,000 interview transcripts covering thousands of public and private companies globally.

Query Example: Based on my entitled expert intelligence networks and content, show me excerpts from interview transcripts from the last 30 days that discuss the geopolitical risks and catalysts for my holdings.

  • ASKB Workflows: Users will get an expanded set of Bloomberg-provided examples and the ability to automate recurring multi-step research tasks – such as Customized Morning Briefs or weekly thesis health checks – by scheduling them to run at a certain time or based on certain market triggers. In addition, the ASKB Workflows and BQL formulas underlying those outputs can be shared by a user with their teammates to maximize efficiency for Terminal users across their firm

Query Example: Give me a Morning News Wrap for the securities in my watchlist.

In addition, ASKB questions about what’s happening in the market suggested by Bloomberg’s subject matter experts will begin appearing within supported Terminal functions. This will allow users to launch deep-dive research exploration and unlock even more value from their Bloomberg Anywhere (BBA) subscriptions by unifying research workflows into a faster, more intuitive experience.

Wayne Barlow, Global Head of Terminal Products, said: “With the evolution of ASKB, we are helping our clients transition from an era of data discovery to an era of institutional intelligence. We are providing investors with an agentic AI engine that synthesizes insights based on the comprehensive web of interconnected market data and a firm’s proprietary knowledge so they can hone their unique, alpha-generating perspectives.”

ASKB provides coverage across asset classes and supports a wide range of use cases within the investment process.
