Charity Day has served as an opportunity for Bloomberg Tradebook to bring together employees, the financial community and celebrity guests in support of charitable causes around the world. Since its inception in 2012, we’ve been honored to have over 40 celebrity ambassadors join Michael R. Bloomberg on the trading desk in New York, London, Hong Kong and Sao Paulo to raise over $5 million in trading commissions earned to support over 30 charities.
Charity Day supported a range of causes such as youth development, medical research, environmental conservation and community outreach. Philanthropy and public service are core values of Bloomberg L.P. and we’ve received immense support from the industry around our philanthropic endeavors and strong tradition of giving back. We’ve personally witnessed the positive impact Charity Day has had in our communities around the world and we cannot thank our partners enough for supporting our endeavors.
Bloomberg Tradebook welcomed the following charities and their ambassadors, among many others:
- Jon Bon Jovi Soul Foundation – Musician and philanthropist, Jon Bon Jovi
- Victor Cruz Foundation – NY Giants wide receiver, Victor Cruz
- Boomer Esiason Foundation – Former NFL Quarterback, Boomer Esiason
- Place2Be – Model and actress, Suki Waterhouse

- The Nature Conservancy – Model, Danielle Graham
- Endometriosis Foundation of America – Top Chef Host, Padma Lakshmi

In addition to raising trading commissions, Charity Day supported a number local philanthropic efforts. In 2017 and 2016, Bloomberg’s Sao Paulo office joined BVSA (Socio-Environmental Investment Exchange) to ring the bell in support of several educational and social projects in Brazil, while funding supported projects by B3’s Socio-Environmental Exchange (BVSA) and Smile Train Brazil.
Charity Day is just one example of the philanthropic efforts that Bloomberg is involved in year-round. The company’s philanthropy and engagement program supports causes and efforts that strengthen communities and improve quality of life worldwide.
